Pond Netting

Netting Your Pond in the Fall is So Important!

See netting below.

Unless you and your neighbors have no trees, you should probably net your pond.

It's so important to keep the organic material out so that 1. you don't feed an algae bloom, and 2. you don't have leaves decaying under the ice.

Remember, the net should be hooped or domed over to keep leaves from weighing it down.  Never lay a net flat over a pond when leaves are falling.  Check out the video below.

Also grab some of our galvanized net staples.  They will keep your net down through the season.  Pro tip: leave the staple out of the ground a inch or two to make it easier to remove when the time comes.  We like to remove our nets after Thanksgiving or the first week of December.
