Water lilies are the quintessential pond plant. It's why many of us choose ponds over other water features. With round lily pads that frogs can perch on and beautiful blossoms that hug the water's surface, it's easy to see why this plant has inspired so many artists over the centuries.
These water lilies are hardy, so they will go dormant in October and come back around May.
Optimal planting depth for water lilies is 18 - 24".
Each plant** will grow 4 - 5' wide and produce multiple blooms per plant. If you can fertilize your lily with a yearly fertilizer, it will produce more blooms.
**Miniature water lily will only grow 2-3' wide with smaller diameter blooms.
We sell these lilies in a half gallon pot that's potted with clay. We highly recommend you repot the water lily before adding it to your pond. It's important to keep water lilies contained, and you want whatever media you use to pot with to not cloud the water. We recommend fabric plant pots with drawstrings and this potting media. You can watch a video on how we pot our water lilies here.
